Bristles and firmness

What the bristle can do, and which coat it is made for.

Bristle: 16 mm nylon + natural bristle

Natural bristles don’t loosen knots. Boar bristle and horsehair are slightly scaly: they pick up dust and skin oils and spread the oil from root to tip. That is the shine metal can’t create. Nylon pins in between reach the skin through long coats, and metal wires lift dandruff out of short coats.

Firmness: medium

Soft bristles for finishing, shine and sensitive skin. Medium firmness when nylon or wire is included: the brush reaches deeper and massages. Never use wire on long or curly coats.

The bars compare Tauro Pro Line brushes with each other: one bar is the gentlest (wooden pins, pure natural bristle), five the firmest.

For which coat

long, dense coats. Typical breeds: Golden Retriever, Collie, Setter, Cocker Spaniel, Havanese, Tibetan Terrier, Long-haired cat.

Which option suits your dog?

The options for this brush, and how to choose.

Size: S (18 x 4,6 cm) · M (22 x 6,3 cm) · L (24,5 x 8 cm)

By the dog, not by the amount of coat. S for puppies and dogs up to approx. 10 kg, and for head and legs. M for medium-sized dogs of around 10 to 25 kg. L for large dogs and large areas on the back. If in doubt, take the smaller one: it reaches everywhere, it just takes a little longer.

    Product description

    What the brush does

This Prestige brush combines two types of bristles in one head: 16 mm long nylon pins that reach through long, dense fur to the skin, and boar bristles in between that smooth the fur and distribute natural skin oils from the roots to the ends. One stroke brushes through and polishes at the same time. The result is volume without frizz and a shine that metal pins alone cannot create. The Prestige Collection is manufactured in Germany.

    Nylon and boar bristle

The nylon pins are flexible and have rounded tips; they separate the hair and detangle light knots. The boar bristles are shorter, densely packed, and slightly scaly, which allows them to pick up dust and skin oils and distribute them evenly. The body is made of beech wood, finished in black lacquer, lightweight, and features an ergonomic handle. The brush is anti-static.

    Which size fits

S (18 x 4.6 cm) for small dogs and cats. M (22 x 6.3 cm) for medium-sized dogs. L (24.5 x 8 cm) for large dogs and those with a lot of coat volume. Intended for long and dense fur: Golden Retriever, Collie, Setter, Cocker Spaniel, Havanese, Tibetan Terrier, long-haired cats. For short fur, the horsehair massage brush is the better choice.

    Application and care

    • Detangle first, then brush. Loosen knots beforehand with a slicker brush; this brush is for brushing through and finishing.
    • In the direction of hair growth, using long strokes from the roots to the tips.
    • Cleaning: Use a comb to pull hair out of the bristles. If necessary, rinse the bristles with lukewarm water and mild shampoo, and let dry with the head facing down. Do not soak the wood.

    In short

Two types of bristles on one head: 16 mm nylon pins that reach through long, thick fur to the skin, and boar bristles in between that smooth the fur and distribute skin oils from the roots to the tips. One stroke brushes through and polishes simultaneously: volume without frizz and a shine that metal pins alone cannot produce. Prestige Collection, manufactured in Germany, in S, M, and L.

    A good fit if …

    • your dog has a long, dense coat – Retriever, Collie, Setter, Spaniel, Havanese
    • you want shine and volume after the slicker brush without switching between two brushes
    • your cat has a long coat
    • you are looking for a finishing brush that still reaches down to the skin

Better a different tool if …

    • the fur has knots or undercoat – the slicker brush will loosen those first
    • your dog has short, smooth fur – then the horsehair massage brush
    • you just want that final shine – then the pure boar bristle brush

    Frequently asked questions

    Which size do I need?

    S (18 x 4.6 cm) for small dogs and cats. M (22 x 6.3 cm) for medium-sized dogs. L (24.5 x 8 cm) for large dogs and a lot of coat volume.

What do the two types of bristle do?

The nylon pins are flexible, have rounded tips and separate the hairs down to the skin. The boar bristles are shorter, densely set and slightly scaly – they pick up dust and skin oils and spread the oils evenly. That creates the shine.

Does it replace the slicker brush?

No. It loosens light tangles, but not knots or undercoat. Slicker first, then this brush for brushing through and finishing.

Is it suitable for short coats too?

For short coats the horsehair massage brush is the better choice. This brush is made for long and dense coats.

    What does Prestige Collection mean?

Tauro Pro Line’s Prestige brushes are made in Germany: wooden body, natural bristles, nylon or stainless steel pins.

How do I clean the bristles?

Pull the hair out with a comb. Every few weeks, rinse the bristles with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo and leave to dry head down. Never soak the wood.

    The maker

It all began with a poodle called Kika

Kika was the first dog of Janita J. Plungė, the founder of the Kika Group, to which Tauro Pro Line belongs. Her love for Kika became a profession: for over 35 years, Janita has been breeding and grooming Bichons Frisés, Maltese and Pomeranians.

Because nothing in the salon was good enough for her, she developed her own line. Every brush comes from that hands-on experience.

Wir lieben diese Bürste!! Mega Produkt

Wir lieben diese Bürste!! Mega Produkt...
