The maker
From the dog show to specialist supplier in Moen
Transgroom was founded in Belgium in 1999 by dog groomer Kitty Dekeersgieter and her husband Darren Cooke. Even before that, the two sold scissors and tools at grooming events; the company name was coined in 1998 at a dog show in Kortrijk. Kitty Dekeersgieter is also one of the founders of Groomania, the grooming festival held annually in Belgium since 2003.
Today Transgroom is based in Moen in West Flanders and supplies dog groomers, breeders and retailers across Europe. The warehouse holds several thousand items, including the own brands Show Tech, Groom-X and Yento, which are developed in-house with professionals.
