Who is behind Show Tech
Show Tech has been built up over more than 30 years by a groomer: Kitty Dekeersgieter developed the range out of her own work at the grooming table. Today it comprises over 2,500 items, from shampoo and conditioner through coat care, brushes and tools to clippers and salon accessories.
The brand is distributed by Nexus Pet Brands, a wholesaler for grooming brands with warehouses in Europe, the UK and the USA. The European office is in Belgium. So Show Tech is not a brand from advertising but one from everyday salon life: it is aimed first at professionals, and that is exactly what makes it interesting for owners who want to work cleanly at home.
Show Tech and SHOWTECH+: two lines
Show Tech is the broad line for daily use: combs, brushes, scissors, nail care, hair bands and care products. Here you will find the tools that lie within reach in every salon.
SHOWTECH+ is the premium line for showing and finishing. Shampoos, conditioners and coat care there are colour-coded so that the right product is quickly picked up in the salon. This also includes chalks developed in-house and textiles such as the dog bathrobe Dry Dude, which the dog wears after the bath while the microfibre fabric draws water out of the coat.
What makes the tools special
With Show Tech you can tell the pieces are built for long working days. Three examples from our range:
- Maxi Pin Advanced. The pin brushes are made in Germany from beechwood. The rubber cushion is very soft, and the metal pins are backed with fabric so that they do not slip back into the cushion. Air holes in the cushion keep it elastic. They come with pins 18, 27 and 35 mm long.
- Anti-static comb. The 19 cm comb has a Teflon coating. The coat builds up less static when combed, and the teeth glide through more easily. With teeth 32 mm long, it also reaches through dense, long coats down to the skin.
- Small specialists. A fine face comb with 18 mm teeth for the eye area, a pair of scissors with a hooked blade that cuts open hair bands without snipping hair, and a nail clipper with stainless steel blades and a safety stop.
Care for eyes and ears
On white coats, brown discolouration under the eyes is the most common issue. Show Tech has two products for this with different jobs.
The Tear Stain Remover is applied to the discoloured coat. Here is how to proceed:
- Coat the area thoroughly and let it dry.
- The next day, brush it out and apply again.
- Keep at it: existing discolouration fades bit by bit, and used regularly it helps to prevent new staining.
If the mixture becomes thicker over time, add a few drops of water.
The No More Tears lotion is intended for daily cleaning around the eye. A soaked pad moistens the hairs along the tear track, after which crusts come away more easily with the face comb. It is recommended above all for short-nosed breeds such as the Shih Tzu, Pekingese or Persian cat. Important: if an eye is watering heavily, is red or your dog squeezes it shut, your dog belongs with the vet. Care is no substitute for an examination.
For the ears there is an ear powder. It absorbs moisture and makes the hairs in the ear canal easier to grip, so that they are easier to remove.
Who Show Tech suits
Owners of long-haired dogs get the most out of it: Coton de Tuléar, Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, Shih Tzu and Havanese. Here you need a comb that reaches the skin, a pin brush for the finish, hair bands for the topknot and reliable eye care. If you show your dog, you will find the products for the final touch in SHOWTECH+. For short-haired dogs, the nail clipper and a bathrobe are usually enough.

- For long coats in everyday life: the anti-static comb for combing through to the skin, then the Maxi Pin with 35 mm for the finish. For short to medium-length coats, the pocket version with 18 mm is enough.

- After the bath: the Dry Dude, before the dryer comes out.
