If you want to buy LADYBEL, you probably know the brand from the dog grooming salon: big canisters, dematting products, shampoo concentrates. Behind it is a French family business near Lyon that has been developing care products for groomers since 1981. Here you can find out who is behind LADYBEL, what makes the products stand out and which one suits your dog.

Who is behind LADYBEL

LADYBEL comes from Neuville-sur-Saône, a village on the River Saône north of Lyon. The brand was founded in 1981, then still under the name Lady Belle. The key milestones according to the manufacturer:

  • 1981: Start as Lady Belle, with care products for professional use.
  • 2006: Founding of the laboratory Bodmer et Fils, which has since operated under the LADYBEL brand.
  • 2016: With Equibel, a line of its own for horses is added.
  • 2025: The second generation of the family takes over the company.

To this day it is a family business that lives with dogs and does not just sell products for them.

What LADYBEL stands for

LADYBEL develops its products in France and is aimed primarily at dog groomers and breeders. A few clear principles follow from this:

  • Natural and organic ingredients, such as organic jojoba oil, organic chamomile or organic rice protein.
  • Cosmetic quality as for humans. According to the manufacturer, the formulations meet the requirements for cosmetics for humans.
  • No animal testing. According to its own statements, the products are not tested on animals.
  • Concentrates for the salon. Many shampoos are available from 200 ml up to the 20-litre canister. You dilute them before use, so one bottle lasts a long time.

What makes the products stand out

Shampoos for every coat type

The heart of the range is the shampoo concentrates of the Lady series. Each one is matched to a coat type:

  • Lady White with organic chamomile, for white and light coats. It freshens the colour without dyeing.
  • Lady Jojoba with organic jojoba oil, for long, fine and silky coats. It provides moisture without making the coat greasy.
  • Lady Baby, especially gentle for puppies, kittens and animals with sensitive skin.
  • Lady Protein, Lady Premium, Lady Saloon and Lady Soyance for other coat types and everyday salon use.

Several shampoos have a matching cream conditioner, such as Jojoba Creme, Premium Creme and Soyance Creme.

Dematting products: LADYBEL's strength

For dogs with long coats, the dematting products are the reason why many groomers reach for LADYBEL:

  • Bio Cream is a dematting cream with wheat germ oil, provitamin B5 and vitamin E. You can use it neat as a shampoo, as a conditioner or diluted in the coat. With regular use it prevents new mats.
  • Demelex is a two-phase dematting spray with organic rice protein. You spray it onto dry or wet coat, it does not need to be rinsed out and has an anti-static effect. Important: Demelex is not suitable for cats.
  • Lady Magic is a brushing spray for in between, also with rice protein. It is not greasy and is also suitable for cats and small animals.

Care and accessories

Lady Net cares for the areas around the eyes and mouth where tears and saliva discolour the coat. It does not need to be rinsed out. In addition there are a bitter spray to stop chewing, an anti-marking spray, and a dosing bottle and dosing pump for the canisters.

How to remove mats with LADYBEL

  1. Spray small knots dry with Lady Magic or Demelex and loosen them with your fingers.
  2. Work the knot out with a comb from the outside in, holding the coat at the base.
  3. When bathing, work Bio Cream in as a conditioner and leave it to work for a few minutes.
  4. Rinse thoroughly and brush while blow-drying.

If the mats are close to the skin or the skin underneath is red, it is better to have a groomer clip them off, and ask your vet about skin problems.

Who LADYBEL suits

  • Owners of long-haired dogs such as Coton de Tuléar, Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier or Havanese, who often struggle with knots.
  • White dogs, for whom Lady White and Lady Net are intended.
  • Puppies, for whom the very gentle Lady Baby is there.
  • Groomers and breeders who need concentrates in large containers.
