The maker

It all started with tear stains on white dogs

Nature's Protection comes from Zapyškis near Kaunas in Lithuania. The Akvatera LT food factory opened there in 2004, the brand followed in 2011. Superior Care arrived in 2014: a line against tear stains on white dogs, with the volcanic mineral MicroZeoGen and without ingredients that discolour light coats. From it grew the lines for white, red and dark coats.

Today the food goes to over 50 countries, since 2021 also to the USA. The first ingredient is always meat, fish or insect, the recipes are grain-free or wheat-free, and the factory has run on green electricity since 2020. In 2023 Nature's Protection was the main sponsor of the World Dog Show. At cotonluv it is the food we recommend first for white coats.

Frequently asked questions

Which Nature's Protection food suits my dog?
First by coat colour: White Dogs for white and light coats, Red Coat for red, Dark Coat for dark coats. Then by age (Starter and puppies, Junior, Adult, Senior) and size (small breeds, all breeds). For sensitive digestion, Hypoallergenic or Sensitive Skin and Stomach. Not sure? Message us via WhatsApp and we will tell you what we would choose.
How do I switch my dog to Nature's Protection?
Slowly, over 7 to 10 days: start by mixing a quarter of the new food into the usual one, then increase the share every two to three days. That way the digestion adjusts without diarrhoea. For very sensitive dogs, better 14 days.
What is MicroZeoGen?
A natural volcanic mineral (clinoptilolite, a zeolite) with a porous structure that binds harmful substances in the gut. It is in all Nature's Protection products; the manufacturer has used it since 2014 in the Superior Care line against tear stains.
Is Nature's Protection grain-free?
Every recipe is grain-free or wheat-free, the first ingredient is meat, fish or insect. Which variant it is, is stated in the product title: grain-free or wheat-free.
Can I mix dry food and wet food?
Yes. Wet food as a topping or in rotation, reducing the daily amount of dry food accordingly. For puppies there is the Starter mousse, which is also suitable for weaning.
Are there samples?
Yes, there are sample packs for the dry foods. You will find them via “order a sample” on the product card or in the samples collection. That way you check whether your dog accepts it before you buy a large bag.
Where is Nature's Protection made?
In its own Akvatera LT factory in Zapyškis near Kaunas, Lithuania, since 2004. Since 2020 production has run on 100 % green electricity, and in 2025 a new factory for wet food was added.
How long does the food keep?
The best-before date is on every pack, and we ship from current stock. Store opened dry food cool, dry and sealed and use it within six to eight weeks. Opened wet food keeps in the fridge for two to three days.
