Who is behind PSH

PSH is based in Llíria near Valencia in Spain. Legally the company behind it is Fontenas S.L. Today the name stands for “Pet Skin Healthcare”, and the brand describes itself as dermocosmetics for pets, developed for groomers and vets.

The roots lie elsewhere: PSH began as an offshoot of a group of companies supplying hairdressers and, by its own account, brings more than 60 years of experience. A large part of the team comes from cosmetics for humans. Development is led by pharmacists and chemists, and PSH also works with vets who specialise in dermatology and test the effectiveness in studies. PSH is represented in 29 countries and regularly exhibits at the major trade fairs in Nuremberg, Bologna and Madrid.

What makes PSH care special

Anyone who has ever used a good salon shampoo will understand the approach. The products are sorted by task, not by breed: moisture, coat repair, volume, shine, sensitive skin, puppies. Behind them are active ingredients you know from hair care, such as keratin, argan oil, proteins, biotin and aloe vera.

For you as an owner, that means: you choose according to the condition of the coat. If it is dry and brittle, you need moisture. If it is thin and dull, you need building up. If it mats quickly, you need something that lays the hairs flat and makes brushing easier.

Kera Argan for dry coats

The Kera Argan Shampoo and the Kera Argan Mask are made for dry or damaged coats. Keratin cares for the hair structure from root to tip, argan oil supplies fatty acids. The coat becomes smoother, frizzes less and is easier to comb. Good after the summer, after a lot of blow-drying or for dogs that are bathed often.

Bio Protein Mask for long coats

The Bio Protein Mask is highly concentrated and one of the brand's best-known products. On long coats it gives a silky, glossy drape. On short coats it conditions the hair and gives it shine. A mask is more intensive than a conditioner; it stays in the coat for a few minutes before you rinse.

Aloe Lover and Tangle Free for dense coats

The Aloe Lover Shampoo has a high proportion of aloe vera. It gives dry coats elasticity and shine back and makes brushing easier afterwards. PSH recommends it above all for long-haired dogs and dogs with dense coats. The Tangle Free Conditioner is the matching counterpart: it lays the hairs flat and makes detangling easier on long and medium-density coats with an undercoat.

Silk X2 for puppies and Fit Ends for the tips

The Silk X2 Puppy Shampoo contains biotin and other vitamins and smells of coconut. It provides moisture and makes the puppy coat supple; often you do not need a conditioner afterwards. The Fit Ends Serum is intended for the hair tips. It smooths and protects the ends, which are the first to break on long coats.

How to use PSH properly

1. Comb the coat thoroughly before the bath. Water pulls knots tight.
2. Wet the coat completely, down to the skin.
3. Spread the shampoo in your hands or diluted with water and work it in in the direction of hair growth, without rubbing in circles.
4. Rinse thoroughly. Residue in the coat makes it dull.
5. Apply mask or conditioner, leave for a few minutes and rinse out well again.
6. Press the water out with a towel and blow-dry, brushing as you go.

The exact dosage is on every bottle. Redness, dandruff, bald patches or severe itching are not a case for a different shampoo but for the vet.
