Who is behind Tauro Pro Line, why the brushes come from the grooming salon, and what makes the Prestige Collection from Germany so special.
Tauro Pro Line is a coat care brand born not at a desk, but at the grooming table. Behind it is KIKA LT, a family-owned business from Kaunas in Lithuania, and a founder who has been breeding and grooming dogs herself for over 35 years. That explains why the brushes are built the way they are.
As a young woman, Janita J. Plungė received her first dog, a female named Kika. The dog became a passion, and that passion became a breeding business: Bichon Frisés, Maltese, and Pomeranians—breeds whose coats don't function without daily care. In her own salon, she realized that the tools and care products on the market weren't good enough for her. So, she had her own developed. To this day, the company bears the dog's name: KIKA.
Tauro Pro Line is the professional line from KIKA. It is used in dog salons, by breeders, and at exhibitions in over 60 countries, and it is continuously developed with the groomers who work with it daily. In Kaunas, KIKA operates its own grooming academy where dog groomers are trained. If it doesn't work there, it doesn't make it into the range.
In terms of brushes, this specifically means:
A unique feature of the plastic slicker brushes: The hardness of the pins is indicated as "Pins Solidity" on the packaging, and the color of the body indicates it. Purple and pink have soft pins, turquoise has hard ones. Soft is the choice for puppies, sensitive skin, and fine coats. Only those working on thick undercoat and tougher knots need hard.
In addition to the professional line from Lithuania, there is the Prestige Collection. These brushes are manufactured in Germany: bodies made of pear or beech wood, pins of stainless steel or hornbeam, and bristles of wild boar or horsehair. They are intended for people who want to buy a brush once and use it for many years. The pin brush with wooden pins is the gentlest brush in the range, the horsehair massage brush is the right one for short-haired dogs, and the pure wild boar bristle is for the finishing touch before the ring.
KIKA produces in Kaunas using electricity from renewable sources and bottles its care products in its own factory. The wooden brushes are oiled instead of lacquered, and the packaging is simple. It is not a brand that relies on large campaigns, but one that is recommended by groomers.
We did not add the brushes to our range because they are inexpensive, but because they work in practice: for Cotons, Maltese, and Bichons—the very breeds for which the founder built them—as well as for anything with an undercoat. cotonluv is an authorized retailer. We have all the brand's brushes in stock, and if you don't know which one suits your dog, send us a photo of the coat via WhatsApp.
