Firmer is not automatically better. The firmness says how deep the brush reaches into the coat – and that depends on your dog's coat.

    The Green Brush is Les Poochs' medium everyday brush – for dogs with short to medium-length hair and soft, fine coats. It detangles, removes loose hair, and keeps the coat in shape between grooming appointments.

    A good fit if your dog …

    • has short to medium-length hair or a soft, fine coat
    • should be brushed daily or several times a week
    • is prone to small knots but does not have a dense undercoat
    • is a Poodle, Bichon, Shih Tzu, Cocker or Coton de Tuléar

    Better a different one if …

    • your dog has thick, coarse, or woolly fur – then use the Purple Brush
    • your main concern is shedding – the Gold or Silver Brush is designed for that
    • the fur is already severely matted – then you first need the Mat Zapper

    Frequently asked questions

    Green or Gold – what is the difference?

    Both are for fine coats. The Green Brush is the everyday brush for detangling. The Gold Brush has twice as many bristles and is built for shedding season and finishing – it pulls out more loose hair and smooths the coat.

    Is it suitable for puppies?

    Yes, it sits comfortably in the middle range. If you want a particularly soft first brush, the Gold Brush is gentler still.

    My dog has undercoat – is the Green Brush enough?

    No. With undercoat and a dense coat the Green Brush does not reach deep enough. Take the Purple Brush for everyday care or the Silver Brush for shedding season.

    How often should I brush?

    With a fine coat, briefly and daily is best. It takes a few minutes and stops knots forming at all.
