The brushes differ in two things: how firm they are and what they were built for. Together those two make up the whole range.
For every day. Detangles, frees loose undercoat and keeps the coat in order before knots form.
Twice as many bristles as the Pro Brush. For shedding season and for the final touch, once the coat is already detangled.

From the outside one dog brush looks like another. The difference lies in four things – and your dog notices it first.
It follows ribs, shoulders and thighs instead of skipping over them. That is how you reach the places where knots form first.
The bristle ends are rounded. That lets the brush reach the skin without scratching – even with daily use.
Spacing and arrangement are the real craft: they grip loose hair and leave the healthy hair standing. The Finishing Brushes have twice as many bristles as the Pro Brushes.

We recommend by coat type rather than by breed – coats vary a lot even within one breed. As a pointer, the breed still helps.

Les Poochs brushes are slicker brushes. Instead of gliding over the coat, the fine stainless steel bristles reach down to the skin and pull loose undercoat out before it turns into knots. During shedding season the Silver Brush takes on the job of a deshedding brush; on matted coats the Mat Zapper is the dematting brush that opens the mats first.
They have been built in the USA for over 30 years, mainly for grooming salons. The bristle pads are patented, handle and head are ultrasonically welded rather than glued. That explains the price – and why the same brush is still in use years later.
